Rwanda Highlights Day 1:

Kigali: Meet and greet at Kigali Airport by your personal guide. Private transfer to your hotel. Overnight Kigali

Day 2:

Kigali-Nyungwe: This morning enjoy a city tour of Kigali, one of the friendliest African capitals and a great introduction to the land of a thousand hills. Then drive to Nyungwe National Park. Visiting enroute, the famous National Museum at Butare and the ancient King's Palace at Nyanza. Overnight Nyungwe.

Day 3:

Nyungwe National Park Nyungwe National Park is the largest block of montane forest in East or Central Africa and is an incredibly rich area of biodiversity but the reason for your visit today is the primates. With 13 species resident you report early in the morning to the Park's offices before heading off to trek chimpanzee. Overnight Nyungwe

Day 4:

Nyungwe National Park Returning to the National Park today you have the opportunity to do a nature walk, visiting Kamiranzovu waterfall. The forest comprises amongst many things at least 200 tree species, over 280 bird species and more than 100 different types of colourful butterfly. A true feast of the senses for the nature lover. Day 5:

Nyungwe-Kibuye Enjoy a morning drive along beautiful Lake Kivu as you head to the picturesque town of Kibuye. After lunch take a relaxing boat trip to either Napoleon's (it's shaped like his hat) Island or Amahoro (peace) Island. Overnight Kibuye.

Day 6:

Kibuye-Gisenyi Transfer to Gisenyi the largest port on the Rwandan shore of Lake Kivu. Take a swim in the lake, simply explore the town, enjoying the hustle and bustle of the local market or wander through the leafy streets admiring the old colonial buildings. Or just relax and admire the view from your hotel. Overnight Gisenyi.

Day 7:

Gisenyi-Volcanoes National Park Take a trip to nearby Rubona to see the local hot springs before heading to Ruhengeri via lush tea plantations and numerous small villages. The afternoon is spent exploring the fourth largest town in Rwanda with a stunning backdrop of three volcanic mountains. Overnight Ruhengeri.

Day 8:

Volcanoes National Park An early start to Kinigi, home to the Volcanoes National Park Offices where you are briefed before commencing the once in a life time experience of mountain gorilla tracking. Overnight Ruhengeri.

Day 9:

Volcanoes National Park Returning to Volcanoes National Park today you participate in a very different experience, tracking the rare golden monkey. Overnight Ruhengeri.

Day 10:

Volcanoes National Park Again reporting to the Volcanoes National Park Offices you set off for the ascent of Mount Bisoke. Overnight Ruhengeri.

Day 11:

Volcanoes National Park-Akagera National Park Say goodbye to the mountains and head for the low-lying undulating plains of Akagera National Park, first stopping in Kigali for a moving visit to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Centre. Your arrival at Akagera is timed to enjoy an evening game drive. Overnight Akagera

Day 12:

Akagera National Park Enjoy a full day game drive as you spot elephant, giraffe, hippo, zebra, crocodiles. And for the really lucky visitor you might also spot lion, leopard and black rhino. Akagera National Park is a must for anyone really wanting to experience the delights of an African game reserve without the crowds of other more famous parks. Overnight Akagera.

Day 13:

Akagera National Park -Kigali Return to Kigali for some last minute shopping and sightseeing. Overnight Kigali

Day 14:

Airport Private transfer to Kigali Airport for your flight home. End of the trip
