4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari

The 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari starts in Kigali city and also ends in Kigali city which is Rwandas capital. The safari includes one permit of $1500 per person in the final price. Tracking of the mountain gorillas will take place in Volcanoes National Park which has a total of 400 mountain gorillas which is half of the 880 gorillas remaining in the whole world. This safari gives you an opportunity to track the mountain gorillas as well as the golden monkeys within the same park.

The park has 10 habituated gorilla families which can be visited on a daily basis by interested visitors. The tour also includes a visit to Kigali city were you can visit the genocide memorial site that was put in place to commemorate the 1994 genocide which took place in Rwanda, National Museum with lots historical items of the country and was given to Rwanda by the Belgium government .

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon landing at Kigali Airport, your dedicated driver guide will be ready to welcome you. The first day kicks off with a drive to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, after which you’ll indulge in a city tour. Explore the well-established markets, delve into the city’s history, with a poignant visit to the 1994 genocide memorial site, and appreciate local art galleries.

Later, your journey continues towards Volcanoes National Park, approximately 80 km from Kigali. Check in at your chosen lodge, ranging from budget to upscale options. Enjoy dinner and settle in for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

Head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing on the rules and regulations. The trek offers stunning views of the Virungas, and encountering the gentle giants is truly unforgettable. Observe gorillas playing, feeding, and engaging in various activities.

Apart from gorillas, you might spot other wildlife such as elephants, monkeys, buffaloes, and various bird species. After the trek, return to the lodge for a late lunch. Spend the evening either exploring the community or unwinding at the lodge.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking or Optional Dian Fossey Tomb Visit

Day 4: Kigali City Tour and Departure
