Departing from Kampala, you’ll travel along the Mpigi-Masaka highway towards the Equator. Since it’s a one-day trip, you can set off around 7:30am. The journey will take you through the districts of Mpigi, with your final destination being Kayabwe, one of the places where the Equator crosses Uganda. The drive to Kayabwe should take no more than 2 hours, as it’s not far from Kampala City.

Upon arrival in Kayabwe, you’ll receive a warm welcome from one of the tour guides, who will explain how and why the Equator truly passes through this location. Additionally, there are several craft shops offering interesting items that make perfect souvenirs. After the experience, you’ll have lunch, perhaps take some time to relax, and then head back to Kampala to conclude your day.
